Jim Ouska has been teaching music over 20 years at the West Bank School of Music and Minneapolis Community and Technical College, offering one on one lessons, classes and ensembles.

“I enjoy assisting students get from where they currently are to where they would like to be musically. Along the way I will inject elements that they hadn’t considered and find that students are energized by this combination.”

He has studied with a variety of teachers beginning at age 13 and learned a lot “by ear,” wearing out records to learn chords and solos. He studied jazz with Dean Granros and Kevin Daley.

Jim teaches at the West Bank School of Music and at Minneapolis Community and Technical College.
